Our company is committed to bringing you the best-tasting, sweet, ripe strawberries and frozen fruit products in the marketplace! Our Food Safety Program Is Comprehensive and Proactive. Fresh Quality: Key Practices We follow Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) which are guidelines from the FDA and USDA for the control and elimination of food safety risks from fresh produce. It includes food safety practices for each segment of the growing cycle: soil and water testing, field sanitation compliance, worker health and hygiene, critical crop input documentation, and food security protocols. We require all of our growers to document information concerning production, harvesting, field management, product handling and distribution practices so that we may have full traceability of our fresh and frozen products. Frozen Fruit Quality: Key Practices At our processing facilities, we implemented a rigorous HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) program and receive annual certification of this program. In addition, we conduct a thorough inspection of all fruit entering our processing facilities with experienced independent auditors. As an added food safety precaution step, our company maintains a “positive release” program in which our finished processed products are not released for shipment until a negative pathogen testing result is received. In addition, Cook and Thurber, the American Institute of Baking, and Primus Labs conduct independent food safety audits throughout the year.
